The qualifying session for Bahrain Grand Prix drew plenty of reactions from the fans on Twitter as the new format once again failed to deliver. On the positive side though, Lewis Hamilton broke the lap record of the Bahrain International Circuit, as he turned the tables in his favour in qualifying.
Nico Rosberg was only second quickest, having topped both the practice sessions on Friday. Ferrari, who topped the final practice, were only third and fourth quickest, over half a second slower than the leading Mercedes pair.
Further back, standout performances came from Romain Grosjean, who qualified ninth, Stoffel Vandoorne, who outqualified his McLaren teammate Jenson Button and Pascal Wehrlein, who made it into Q2 in only his second race.
