Twitter was dominated by McLaren-Honda jokes once again as Fernando Alonso was seen sunbathing at the track, after packing his car with a reported loss of power. The Spaniard, along with his teammate Jenson Button, later gatecrashed the podium, making for another amusing scene.
The off-track humour, however, shouldn't sideline Nico Rosberg's fifth pole in a row. The German turned the tables during his favour in the final part of qualifying, bringing memories of the 2014 season.
Nico Hulkenberg did a formidable job of qualifying his Force India in sixth place, and will move one position ahead thanks to Valtteri Bottas' three place grid penalty.
