Sauber has become the second Formula 1 team to showcase its 2017 challenger, with the C36 featuring a new livery to celebrate the Hinwil-based squad’s 25th years in the sport.

The C35 uses blue and white as primary colours, with an added touch of gold. A prominent ‘25 years in Formula 1’ logo can be seen on the engine cover.

The new livery replaces the blue and yellow colour scheme Sauber carried during the past two seasons as part of a sponsorship arrangement with Felipe Nasr’s sponsor, Banco de Brasil.

Sauber finished 10th in the championship last year, having scored two points in the penultimate round of the season in Brazil.

The Swiss squad has retained Marcus Ericsson for a third season. He will be joined by Mercedes junior driver Pascal Wehrlein.

While the chassis itself is brand new to comply with the 2017 regulations, Sauber will be using an year-old Ferrari engine, which is likely to become a major disadvantage as the season wores on.
