Nico Rosberg topped an incident packed and closed FP3 by setting a lap time of 1m15.159s. The top 4 drivers were covered by just 0.051s.
A resurgent Massa was second fastest, just 0.038 seconds slower than the German. Sebastian Vettel outpaced the other double world champion on the grid, Fernando Alonso by just 0.001s as he set the third fastest time of the day.
Romain Grosjean again showed strong pace in this session to outpace two McLarens of Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton. Michael Schumacher in the second Mercedes was 8th fastest while Sergio Perez and Mark Webber rounded up the top 10.
The last 10 mins of the session were full of incidents, first of all Sergio Perez nearly crashed into Hulkenberg at the final corner; the other Force India of Paul di Resta crashed into Nouvelle Chicane, damaging his front wing and nose. However, he managed to take the VJM05 back in the pitlane.
Maldonado then made contact with Sergio Perez while overtaking the latter, however there was no damage to either of the cars. Both Maldonado and Hulkenberg are being investigated for blocking Perez.
The following lap Maldonado clipped the walls of Casino Square, losing his left front wheel and sliding across the track. His car was taken back to Williams pits with a crane as his team will have to work hard to repair his car for the qualifying session. The session was red flagged following the incident.
The Toro Rosso's of Vergne and Ricciardo were 11th and 14th fastest as they sandwiched the Lotus of Kimi Raikkonen and Sauber of Kamui Kobayashi. It was former's first full dry session after being interrupted from steering problem and rain in FP1 and FP2 respectively.
