Nico Rosberg took a lights-to-flag win in the European Grand Prix on Sunday, as Mercedes teammate and title rival Lewis Hamilton trailed down in fifth place with reported technical issues.
The German driver was never threatened in the 51 lap race, beating Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel by 10.696 to the chequered flag.
Force India’s Sergio Perez progressed from seventh on the grid to take the final spot on the podium, passing Kimi Raikkonen on the final lap.
Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton could manage no better than fifth after a power unit issue hampered his charge from 10th on the pack.
Valtteri Bottas was classified in sixth place as Williams failed to carry forward their sublime practice pace to raceday.
Red Bull drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen passed the second Force India of Nico Hulkenberg in quick succession towards the end of the race, with the German struggling on worn out supersoft tyres.
Felipe Massa completed the top 10 for Williams, with Jenson Button just missing out on the final points finish.
