_2007 World Champion, Kimi Raikkonen got behind the wheels of a 2010 spec Renault R30 in a bid to acclimatise himself as he makes a return to F1 after a gap of two years. According to the initial reports from the Team, Kimi's lap times are impressive. With the strict in season testing ban, No Team is allowed to test with latest spec car but the Teams are allowed to test with an older spec car. Kimi will be driving the R30 for two days fitted with Pirelli demo tyres.
Kimi later commented on the Team's official website that his biggest challenge lies in getting adapted to the Pirelli Tyres. Also stating that he needs time to understand the car and the team.
_Also it was reported that Renault has passed the mandatory crash test which means Renault is on schedule for 2012 car which is slated to be on Februrary 5, Following the launch Kimi will drive the car in the official pre season testing for the first two days after which he will handover the car to his Teammate.
