Lewis Hamilton topped the second practice of the British Grand Prix, while Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg watched the session from the sidelines.
Hamilton, who was also quickest in FP1, lapped the Silverstone Circuit in 1:31.660, four tenths clear of Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo.
Max Verstappen was third quickest, with Ferrari drivers Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen nearly a second down on Hamilton’s Mercedes.
Fernando Alonso finished an encouraging sixth in the lead McLaren-Honda entry, ahead of the Williams of Valtteri Bottas and Haas’ Romain Grosjean.
Jenson Button escaped a power unit-related scare to finish ninth, with Felipe Massa completing the top 10.
Force India, which got both cars in the top 10 this morning, struggled for pace in FP2, with Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez finishing 15th and 16th respectively.
Meanwhile, Rosberg’s running was initially curtailed by a water leak, before a more serious problem prevented him from venturing out on track.
Daniil Kvyat spun at the Clubs corner, damaging his front wing and the floor of his car. Many other drivers had minor offs, but escaped without any serious damage to their cars.
