2012 would be the last season for seven time F1 world champion Michael Schumacher, says Mercedes' Gerhard Berger.
Schumacher retired from the sport at the end of 2006 season only to return with Mercedes in 2010. He signed a three year contract with the German squad.
It looks like the contract won't be renewed, and it would be last year for the German driver in F1.
"I do not think he will extend his contract. At this point I think it will be enough," Berger toldAuto Moto und Sport.
Schumacher finished the 2010 and 2011 season in 9th and 8th place respectively. He failed to score even a single podium and was beaten by younger team mate Nico Rosberg
"He has no chance against Rosberg. He will have to admit that at more than 40 years old he cannot beat a young driver at his level."
