Back in October, Vijay Mallya confirmed he was having conversations with Aston Martin about a future collaboration between Force India and the British luxury car brand in 2016. The famous car manufacturer has already been part of the F1 world about 50 years ago and now its return could bring a lot of sponsors to Force India, such as Johnnie Walker.
Now, Simon Sproule, Aston Martin’s communications director, comments about the coming back of the brand: "We have not made any decision, and is not likely that we take it, about F1 or another aspect of motorsport until next year". "We also have to imagine what will be our path later in motor sport. We don’t contemplate only Formula 1", he adds.
At the moment, it doesn’t look good for Force India. Its deputy chief, Bob Fernley, is not very confident about the possible collaboration, or at least not for next season. We will have to wait until January for any news concerning that issue.
